The truth about Layla

In atonement for posting about how bad Layla is and for calling her a wild child (although I do hold to the fact that she's a wild child; for some reason I keep thinking of Jodi Foster's character in the movie Nell), here are some of the good things about her that you may not know.

1. Layla loves to kiss. And she makes the "mwa" sound almost every time. She kisses everything. Pictures in books and magazines, stuffed animals, even the little pictures of Nemo or whoever is on her sippy cups. She kisses Mishi (the dog) and attempts to kiss the kitties, but usually scares them off in the process. And she kisses me, which was hysterical at first because she would put both her hands on my cheeks and try to plant one right on my mouth! Now, she will kiss me on the cheek when I ask her if Mom can have a kiss. It is adorable. She also loves to blow kisses to people and even to the animals when we are leaving the house.
2. She loves to play little games with people, like Peekaboo or hiding things behind her back. It's her most favorite thing to do in the world. She laughs and laughs.
3. She is so kind to Mishi, who suffers a great deal from arthritis. Layla pets her nicely and gives her kisses. She talks to her a lot and looks for her all the time.
4. She loves to cuddle. She likes to sit or lay with me when she watches tv. When she's tired, she rests her head on my shoulder, sucks her thumb, and makes cooing noises.
5. She mimics everything I do. (Guess I better stop swearing before she starts saying everything I say.)
6. She loves to make people laugh.
7. She loves to flirt with strangers, which inevitably ends up with them telling her she's beautiful.
8. She claps her hands to Kid Rock in the car.
9. She dances like crazy to all kinds of music and even sings.
10. Most of the time, she is happy, loving and entertaining.

So those are just some of the good things about Layla's behavior. Overall, she is an angel and, even considering the behavioral and (minor) health issues, I am so blessed to have her in my life.
