Meke's picture

Since this blog is password-protected, I've added Meke's picture to it. Since she is not legally mine, I am not allowed to publicly post her picture. I heard recently of someone who had a photo of their referred child on a public blog; someone turned her in to the Ethiopian government and they stopped her adoption and banned her from ever adopting from Ethiopia. I always say that anything can happen in international adoptions -- I have to remember that there may be another path laid out for Mekdelawit. I've heard of kids who have been referred being returned to their biological families or the adoptions not passing court for some obscure reason. So I understand the rule that we can't post pictures publicly until we pass court; we could potentially be posting pictures of someone else's kids. This is why I tell everyone I forward the pictures to not to send them to anyone else. However, I can't help being so excited that I want to share them with my friends and family!
